When Ishod Wair sits down to talk about skateboarding, consider me all ears. He recently dropped by Route One’s London store to chop it up about everything from his Nike SB Wair Max “Silver Bullet” colorway to the brutal reality of six-hour battle sessions, the frustrations that come with being injured and a whole lot more.
On and off the board, Ishod is as real as it gets. Great little interview. Press play:

Hearing Ishod break down the inspiration behind the Silver Bullet colorway—and the fact that it had been on his mind since the shoe was designed—was interesting.

As far as skateboarding shoes are concerned, it’s pretty unique, but the attention to detail that went into creating them makes one thing clear—they’re built to skate. But we’re just scratching the surface there. If shoe talk isn’t your thing, hearing about some of his recent injuries and battles is super rad all the same. He skates so effortlessly, it’s hard to imagine him battling a trick. I guess the dude is human after all!
But in true Ishod fashion, he still keeps things light, and the conversation certainly wasn’t just about the tough stuff. His passion for skating, progression, and constantly pushing limits is what keeps him going (and what sets him apart from the rest).
Anyways, whether he’s talking about shoes, slams, or some of the unavoidable challenges that come with skating, you can always expect him to keep it real. If you haven’t watched the full interview yet, get there.
