Chad Muska isn’t the type of person to just sit around and wait for things to happen. We’ve seen him keeping busy with a handful of personal projects over the last few years, from finger boards to limited deck drops, Muska Clothing Co. and now, adding to this impressive list, he’s officially back in the footwear game—but he’s doing it on his own terms.
He recently posted a photo on Instagram showing stacks and stacks of boxes like you’d find in any normal warehouse, with this caption: “No major shoe companies called to work with me. So I started my own.” And with that, we officially have the Muska Footwear Co.—Chad’s latest business endeavor. Let’s talk about this.

“This is the start to an uphill battle against the giants,” Muska continued to write on Instagram. Tacking on: “I have been training my whole life for this moment.”

On Instagram this morning, April 23rd, Muska went live (maybe you were on it) while packing up some recent orders—boards, pants and a few random items—and it was oddly entertaining. No music. No editing. Just the rustle of paper, the ripple of tape, and Muska fully in his element.
Honestly, it was like a straight-up performance art piece, haha! And I definitely sat there watching longer than I care to admit. But what I’m getting at is the fact that he had these new shoes subtly on display all throughout the video—a proper sneak peak at the kicks his fans had been asking to see for weeks now.

The new shoes are definitely a nod to his iconic Supra days. I mean, I’m sure he doesn’t wanna hear it, but they’re basically just updated Skytops that say Muska instead of Supra, but that’s hardly important.
If anyone has the vision, drive, and street cred to pull something like this off, it’s Muska. And despite how the shoes look, he’s here to evolve not repeat.

No official release date yet, but I did see Muska answering questions in the comments, and it sounds like they might drop this coming Friday, April 25th.
But again—don’t quote me on that. Your best bet is to follow him on Instagram @themuska for updates.
Don’t call it a comeback! Muska’s just doing what he’s always done best–making a statement. And if the hype in the comments tells us anything, well, he just might be onto something.
