I think it’s safe to say skateboarding is often about the journey, and Cordano Russell’s journey in the world of skateboarding is certainly one worth hearing.
In the latest episode of Then/Now, Cordano takes us back to the days of pushing around the streets of St. Louis, Missouri, to turning pro, skating in the Olympics, and making his mark on the industry one heavy clip at a time. It’s crazy to think the dude is only 20 years old! We’ve been fans from the start. Press play and get inspired.

This episode is stacked with throwback clips of a young Cordano figuring it all out (Then), which is actually super rad to see, peppered in with plenty of current heavy-hitting clips all the same (Now).

Hearing him run through all the key moments that shaped his journey—from iconic video parts that got him hyped to the pros he looked up to, locking in with the right crews and communities and more—was pretty humbling as well. I love that he’s just in the mix these days. He’s not just with the big dogs, he’s genuinely one of them.
Again, I remember Cordano skating the TransWorld Park when he was just a little guy, but even then, we all knew he was going to be something special.

What’s really important is that every step of the way, Cordano has stayed focused on progression, and at just 20 years old, it’s obvious he’s only scratching the surface. Think of where he’s at right now. Think of everything he’s already accomplished! That simple fact alone is pretty insane, actually.
We can only imagine what Cordano is going to bring to the table as the years pass. He’s a skateboarder, through and through. And he’s extremely passionate about where he’s at and where he’s going.
Whether you’ve been following Cordano’s rise like us, or maybe you’re just getting familiar with this legend-in-the-making, this Then/Now episode is a great look at his inspiring journey. Keep your eyes on this dude! He’s one of the realest.
