Some skateboarders make an impression, while others make a truly lasting impact. Filipe Mota is one of those skateboarders. At just 18, the Brazilian powerhouse isn’t just on the rise—he’s a legit force to be reckoned with.
From his impressively deep bag of tricks to a style that compliments them perfectly; a relentless drive to progress, or his growing presence in global contests, Filipe is here for the long haul. And he ain’t slowing down!
World Skate recently caught up with Filipe to talk contests, training, street skating, video parts and more, and it’s a solid look inside the mind of this hungry up-and-comer. Whether you’re a diehard fan or just want to learn a little more about this absolute ripper, press play and dive in.
You can see his focus so clearly when he skates. Everything is precise and pretty much as close to perfect as you can get, but at the same time, he doesn’t look like a robot or anything, you know? He’s just flowing and effortlessly rifling off some of the heaviest tricks imaginable on a daily basis.

I loved hearing his thoughts on how training for contests gets him just as prepared for the streets as it does for the course. Consistency is key and he practices what he preaches, which I really admire. If you put in the work, the results will always follow. Filipe is living proof.
Not many skateboarders can balance the contest/street skating life, either. At least not as well as dudes like Mota. He clearly just wants to skate—doesn’t matter where—and that genuine love for skateboarding certainly adds some natural fuel to the fire. Always does, always will.
Filipe has had a pretty impressive last couple of years and 2025 will be no exception. Keep your eyes on this dude! Honestly, it’ll be hard not to either way.
