Vans and Montreal’s JJJJound recently came together to breathe some new life into one of skateboarding’s most iconic shoes—Steve Caballero’s legendary Half Cab.

The Half Cab originally entered the skateboarding world in 1992 as a response to skateboarders literally chopping off a layer of the original Caballero shoe. We’ve all heard the stories. And the OTW by Vans x JJJJound Half Cab “is reinterpreted as a more wearable lifestyle-oriented version of the Half Cab: padding removed and the classic JJJJound nylon tongue applied,” the press release mentions.

The reimagined shoes are dropping in two different colorways—black suede and burgundy suede. And both feature a clean off-white sole, tongue and laces, which I’m backing super hard. OTW by Vans originally teased some samples about a month ago and they certainly caught my attention. Stoked they’re officially here!

Again, the shoes will be available exclusively on OTW by Vans website tomorrow, April 17. Mark your calendars, set your alarms—whatever! Just know that they are limited and super easy on the eyes. People are stoked! Spend just a few seconds in the comments and you’ll see that the hype is real. So if you want ’em, make moves!
“Both designs carry forward the legacy of the Vans Half Cab,” the press release mentions. “All the while embodying JJJJound ethos: combining elevated materials and carefully selected colors, with the JJJJound classic nylon tongue.”
