Episode four of the Static VI ‘Raw Tapes’ series just dropped, and this time around we head down to the palm-lined streets of Miami for the first of two filming missions that helped shape the final video.
You know the Static VI squad doesn’t mess around when it comes to capturing raw, honest skateboarding—and this edit is certainly no exception. Settle in, press play and witness some of the unseen battles, unused clips, alternate angles and a whole lot more. Get there:
The edit features: Nyle Lovett, Brett Weinstein, Mark Del Negro, Trevor Thompson, John Baragwanath, Josh Narvaez and Joel Meinholz, who “battled Mount Boardslide over and over in a brutal must-see battle for the ages,” Theories mentions.
Don’t worry, you’ll see. It’s simply one of the many battles that reminds us just how much energy, patience and effort goes into filming these parts.

“This new ‘Raw Tapes’ series showcases footage from the filming of Static VI, spanning the years of 2016-2023,” Theories explains. “Alternate angles, unused clips, slams and more, the series takes you behind the scenes of some of your favorite video projects and shows you who was on the sessions and what went down before and after the makes.”
Personally, I can’t get enough of this stuff! ‘Raw Tapes’ is easily one of my favorite series on the interwebs right now. Shoutout Josh Stewart and Jake Todd for their countless hours behind the lens and in the editing room. It’s a true labor of love, but certainly not one that goes unnoticed or under-appreciated. It’s the perfect way to pull back the curtain and see what really goes down on these heavy sessions.
