Hot on the heels of Kento Urano’s gnarly Skate Juice 4 ‘B-Sides’ that dropped last week, Chris “Crusty” Weissmann’s raw clips from the video just hit the interwebs, and just be forewarned—some of these are seriously pretty brutal.
This is pure, unfiltered chaos in the best possible way. Crusty is known for his wild, all-gas-no-brakes approach to skateboarding, and these B-Sides remind us what really goes on when skateboarders are out there giving it their all.
The slams, the heartbreaks, the relentless determination. All that effort for a clip that usually only lasts a couple seconds when the video drops! It’s all just part of it. Hold on tight and take a look. Crusty is buck!
“Crusty took one of the heaviest slams of the project—straight to the dome—but came back swinging,” mentioned Brent Hyden, the man behind the Skate Juice series. “These are the sessions, the slams, and the moments that didn’t make the final cut… but show just how much went into stacking his part.”
I think we’ll all find ourselves at the edge of our seat at least a few times watching these raw clips. Honestly, that first slam had me pretty shook, if I’m being real. This is the side of skateboarding that exists, but not everyone really gets to see. We’ve all been there, and it’s a super terrifying feeling seeing your homie go down.

Fortunately, Crusty heeled up pretty quickly and walked away from the situation somewhat unscathed, all things considered. Blood was shed, sure, but I think we all know that could’ve been bad. And he still went on to have one of the gnarliest parts in the video, hands down. What a beast.

We interviewed Brent Hyden, the mind behind the Skate Juice series last summer when Skate Juice 4 dropped. If you want to learn more about the project, tap that post above. And if you just want to watch the video, I got you:
Crusty definitely had a standout part in the video, but the entire project is stacked with a variety of hungry up-and-comers who each deserve some shine. Do yourself a favor and carve out some time to watch it. Brent and the entire squad absolutely killed it.
As for Chris, he’s still out in the streets charging as hard as ever as you read this. Can’t keep a good man down! Here’s to many more sessions without hits to the dome. Keep charging, Crusty. Respect is an understatement.
