When it comes to choosing the right wheels to skate, there’s obviously not some simple one-size-fits-all solution—but one of YouTube’s certified skateboarding product nerds, Ben Degros and Canada’s Supra Distribution recently made that choice a whole lot easier—well, at least if you ride Spitfires.
In a new video breakdown on YouTube, Ben links up with Supra to take a deep dive into the wide variety of Spitfire wheel shapes, giving us all a detailed, no-nonsense rundown of how each one skates, the pros and cons, and why this one or that one might just be the right pick for you. Take a look:

The wheels featured in the video are: Spitfire Classics, Spitfire Radial Fulls, Spitfire Conical Fulls, Spitfire Lock-Ins, Spitfire Tablets and Ishod Wair’s new signature wheels, which are a hybrid between the Classics and Lock-Ins. (Tap the post below for more info on those specifically!)

If you’ve ever stood in a skateshop and stared at the wheel display, I’d bet almost anything that the majority of the wheels are probably Spitfires. That’s a no-brainer.
But I’d also bet you’ve probably spent some time wondering what each shape and size actually do. Why do they matter? What’s really the difference? What’s right for me and the way I skate?
All fair questions, but again, this video is really all you need to watch to have those questions answered. Ben’s straightforward explanations and comparisons help you figure out what works best for your setup and style—without any fluffy marketing jargon.

At the end of the day, choosing the right wheel for you and your skating can certainly make a difference, but testing all the options available is half the fun!
If you’re still unsure, I’d suggest rolling into your local skateshop and asking the employee behind the counter any questions you might have. Like Ben in the video above, shop folks are here to help. Don’t be afraid to experiment a bit! Your go-to wheels are waiting for you. We promise.
