If you thought Alex Willms’ part in the SK8MAFIA Video (2023) was heavy, well, you’re absolutely correct. In fact, “heavy” might not even be saying enough.
Regardless, wait until you see the raw clips that SK8MAFIA just dropped from the part, as they show us all just how much blood, sweat, and heart went into every terrifying clip that made it what it was—and still is. Take a look:

When Alex’s part first dropped, many could argue it sorta felt like he came out of nowhere (unless you’re from San Diego). But even if you are from San Diego, where you might’ve heard the rumblings here and there, I don’t think anyone knew he was sitting on the part he was sitting on.
It was a proper introduction to a skater who’s raw, hungry, and undeniably talented, that’s for sure. Alex quickly proved he could do it all—huge handrails, high-speed lines… the list goes on. The dude is an absolute beast.

But what I love about these raw clips is that they peel back the curtain and show the real price that was paid to come out swinging so hard.
Every battle. Every slam. Every heartbreak. It’s easy to watch a finished video part and forget how brutal skateboarding truly is. The amount of times this dude got tossed to the unforgiving cement just to get up and try again is admirable, to say the least.
It says just as much about Alex as a person as it does about him as a skateboarder.

Alex has dealt with a few major injuries in the past few years that he’s been slowly combatting. I’d say that comes with the territory. But if we know anything about this ripper, it’s that he’ll bounce back soon enough and continue to charge. In the meantime, peep these raw clips and get stoked.
Willms is a real one. Don’t worry. He’s just getting started.
